Michael is a litigation attorney whose practice centers on title insurance and real estate disputes. Before joining the firm, he spent several years in claims and in-house litigation roles at the nation’s largest title insurance underwriter, where he handled a docket of title-related litigation. That background gives him a practical read on how title claims develop, what drives their cost, and how underwriters and insureds actually weigh risk. A part of his practice is first-party coverage defense, representing various insurers against breach of contract, bad faith, and extra-contractual claims brought by their own insureds. He has also advised financial institution clients on litigation strategy and risk management, including claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Outside of litigation, Michael assists commercial landlords with leases and related contracts.
