Practice Description
Sean M. Moloney is an experienced litigator who has represented creditors in mortgage foreclosure actions throughout the State of Florida. In Texas, he has also developed a practice in business, construction, real property, and Deceptive Trade Practices Act litigation. He now focuses his practice on defending consumer reporting agencies , background check companies, and tenant screening companies against claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other federal and state laws.
Professional / Civic Activities
Prior to attending law school, Sean studied environmental science at Florida International University and earned minors in biology, chemistry, and international relations. For four years following graduation from FIU, Sean worked in aquaculture and raised Red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus), a coastal game fish for a successful Biscayne Bay population restocking program.
While a law student, Sean clerked for the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection on water quality issues and was assigned to the office of Attorney General Special Projects Office on a decades-long inverse condemnation (submarine lease) case (Coastal Petroleum Co. v. State Department of Environmental Protection) which focused on the question of whether the State’s denial of a permit constitutes the taking of substantially all of the Plaintiff’s property rights under the lease.
In addition to his full-time schedule as an attorney, Sean along with his wife Raquel, are active hikers and supporters of the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
